When Persident Harry S. Truman dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the World War 2, he was justified. This action saved the lives of many people, approximately more than 1 millon American soldiers. The decision of dropping the bomb was also the only way to end the war quicklier.
Each people have there own perspective and point of views toward this. The bomb was dropped as a warning or a threat to the Soviet Union. The immediate action of the United States was dropping the atomic bombs on Japan which leaded to the death of thousands of innocent civilians including the men, women, and children. It was necessary in order to hasten the Japanese surrender and thereby save the lives of allied soldiers and lives of American civilians. On one hand, yes, we needed to get out of the war with Japan as soon as possible before more lives were lost. Others believed that they had it coming, as they decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. Yet some people still think that the atomic bomb was too much of a stretch and completely unnecessary to kill so many people. The dropping of the atomic bomb also makes Americans the only people who ever used a nuclear bomb, which impaired our standing in the world. The bomb dropping caused Japan to surrender to the U.S.
The Operation Olympus and the Invasion of Japan judging from Okinawa's invasion would have cost several million deaths for both the Japanese civilians and the Allied soldiers The allies could not afford so many deaths. With this said, we believe that the dropping of the atomic boom was justified.
